Author Interview - ONE IAM

What is your writing process like?

Outlining the subject matter. Writing a first draft. Editing. Proofreading. Writing a final draft. Proofreading. Publication.

How do you come up with ideas for stories and characters?

My work is non-fiction. I may change the names but I've lived the stories and I know the characters.

What do the words “writer’s block” mean to you?

Nothing. I just write it like it is, or just as it happened.

How do you process and deal with negative book reviews?

I put book reviews in one category - Book Reviews, positive or negative.

What is the most challenging part of your writing process?

Finding the words to describe things that are indescribable.

How long have you been writing, or when did you start?

I started writing in the late 1980's. I was searching and writing helped to clear the path for me.

What advice would you give writers working on their first book?

Get a good editor to proofread your book for you.

How do you develop your plot and characters?

I remember.

How many books have you written, and which is your favorite?

I've written five books. Living The Dream is a classic. Wanton Inquiry - Till Death Do Us Part, brought about the most tears.

What part of the book did you have the hardest time writing?

Wanton Inquiry, Writing about the way people made me feel was the hardest. I was young and didn't understand that only I control my feelings.

What inspired the idea for your book?

Living The Dream, just the need to awaken people to this mental energy matrix that we appear to live in and how to control it.

What was your hardest scene to write, and why?

Wanton Inquiry, I would say watching another man take my young beautiful wife, for the first time. It's something you might think you're ready to see, but when it goes down, it's a different world, especially when she's enjoying it, immensely.

What do you need in your writing space to help you stay focused?

Quiet

If you could spend a day with another popular author, whom would you choose?

It seems that all the authors I'd want to spend a day with have transitioned.

When was the last time you Googled yourself and what did you find?

I Googled myself a few days ago and my Google profile showed up on the first page.
