How do you come up with ideas for stories and characters?
The best stories come from experience. I write about the situations and events that are close to home, the ones that can be relatable, understandable, shocking, and of course the most suspenseful.
What do the words “writer’s block” mean to you?
"Writer's block" is a period (days, weeks, months, years) that can halt your mind from being creative. As a creative, our mind is the most important part of how we make our masterpieces, without our mind, we are stuck.
How long have you been writing, or when did you start?
I have been writing stories since I was in grade school, which is over two decades now. I have always wanted to write. As an avid reader, and film/TV lover, my mind is always on to the next story, how can I create and how can I get someone to enjoy what I write too.
What advice would you give writers working on their first book?
My advice to writers, all writers, is to take it easy. Don't work yourself too hard and don't work yourself to the death. Yout creation will be done when your mind has given its all. You have to keep working even when you feel down because when you feel down, that is also the creative side that you have to unpack eventually.
What part of the book did you have the hardest time writing?
The hardest aspect of my books to write is imagery. It is not as easy as most people might think it is. Details are everything. Without them we cannot visual.
