Author Interview - Brenda E  Mcdaniel

What is your writing process like?

I decide what type of story/book, to write. Decide on the personalities of my characters. Decide on story lines or scenes. Or type of plots. Then I start writing, I may change things at times. When writing and even when I finish. Till I decide it is good.

How do you process and deal with negative book reviews?

I use to get angry and felt hurt. But, as I became a seasoned writer. I learned to have a tough skin. You can never please everyone. And sometimes the negative reviews. Help you write better. So, you write to please yourself. And be sure to have a good editor.

What is the most challenging part of your writing process?

The most challenging part is getting your story to be cohesive. To get all things, to come together for a great story. One in which all things relate to the central plot.

What advice would you give writers working on their first book?

My advice for the author, is to write about things you know. And, to always write from the heart. And, again to be sure, you have an good editor and a good proofreader.

What was your hardest scene to write, and why?

My hardest scene to write is usually the ending scene. How to end the story or not? If want to write a series, you don't want to completely end it. Tell or show the readers, there is more to come.
