What advice would you give someone just starting their own business?

To get the best advice early on, do whatever it takes, have a solid plan for each day to move forward.

How do you deal with fear and doubt?

I push through, I research, research, research, make a plan and move forward in tiny steps, do not stop.

What routines do you follow each day?

I write a list in my diary every day, during today I create my list for tomorrow, I achieve an enormous amount because I do whatever it takes.

Where do you see your business in five years? Ten?

With my 30 fiction books out of my safe and created into beautiful books, my new self-improvement books will be helping many people and my Life Coaching will be thriving.

How does your business look different now vs. when you first started?

I have automation now and marketing

How do you set your business apart from others in your industry?

I create trust in my truth to improve the lives of others.

How did you market your business when it was brand new?

Amazon ads, all social media arenas,

What is the hardest part of being an entrepreneur?

Starting off having to do everything and not enough time to write more books. The chicken and the egg.

What is your favorite part of being an entrepreneur?

Setting my own daily agenda

What qualities do you think every entrepreneur should possess?

Grit to follow the great leaders

What do you look for when outsourcing or hiring?

I use Outsourceddoers and they are amazing.

What will you never compromise on with your business?

Honesty and quality

How did you raise funding or financially prepare for your business?

I used savings, I went without many other things to build the business.

Do you have any advice about setting up a business in terms of legal/accounting?

Never have anything in your own name, get a trust or company set up.

How do you plan financially for your business’s future?

I always reinvest to improve it, I love efficiency and seeing it grow.

Have you ever taken out a business loan? Would you recommend it?

Yes and definitely not, at one stage I was 3.5 million in debt and I stood to lose everything so definitely not. It took me 13 years to recover and get back on my feet. That's a long time to hold my breath.

Who is your biggest role model?

Oprah

How do you define success?

Having balance in all areas of my life and the ability to bounce back when life slaps me in the face.

What makes a good leader?

Someone who can inspire others to have a better life. I think I am a good leader because I have done some really hard miles in life and I am not bitter, I'm just driven to help others through hard times.

At what point did you look at your business and consider it a success?

A few years ago when it started coming together, I am glad that I didn't give up and that I have been able to help others with my books and coaching courses.

What would you change about your business journey if you could go back?

I would not have purchased businesses to please my ex husband, I would have made choices for both of us not just to try and make him happy. It is important to do what you both love, not what only makes 1 happy in a partnership.
