Interview - Neal Goldstein

Why did you decide to start your own business?

Starting a business can be a life-changing experience. It can also seem scary if you’ve never done it before. If you desire to make the world a better place, this can be a huge motivator to start a business. Many factors led to me creating my business, but the driving force was my passion for improving people’s lives.

How do you deal with fear and doubt?

Self-sabotage is among the most prominent reasons why entrepreneurs quit following their dreams and instead decide to live a life of obscurity. Whether it is your inner critic questioning your every move or some events happening in the market that make you reconsider if it was even the right decision to start your business, many things can stop you on your way to the top. Luckily, most of them are limited to our minds, so it shouldn't be that difficult to get rid of them, at least in theory. When you learn how not to fall prey to self-sabotage, you will be able to elevate your life and destroy any obstacles in your way as soon as they appear.

How did you market your business when it was brand new?

Demonstrate Your Uniqueness. Avoid Information Overload. Measure The Market Predictions. Engage Your Potential Customers. Set Clear Goals. Keep An Open Business Mind. Use The PESTLE Framework.

What is the hardest part of being an entrepreneur?

Entrepreneurship is not a job. But for several years, in the beginning, it feels like a high-stress job with multiple bosses (your customers) and you will feel like a lone captain of a ship with no crew. Some people eventually grow out of this, but some people get stuck forever in this cycle because they cannot build an A-team. An A-team is a team that takes care of your business and customers as much as you do. When you start building an A-team, things will slowly start getting easier and you can focus on the long-term vision and growth of the company, rather than solving urgent but trivial things in the day-to-day operations of the business.

What is your favorite part of being an entrepreneur?

The best part about being an entrepreneur is having the opportunity to take an idea and inspire other people around me to contribute to that idea, make it better and put it into action. When it comes down to it, success is sweeter when you were the one to take the risks.
